How to add Sim Racing ABS simulation to the MOZA SR-P pedals
Well, we all want to go fast when sim racing, but we also want to make our racing experience as immersive as possible.
Bass Shakers (Tactile Transducers) are one of my favorite gadgets that add an incredible immersive feeling during the race. From getting feedback from the laser scanned tracks, or when hitting a kerb, as well as when tyres are slipping or locking up!
This is definitely one of the upgrades that add an additional dimension to my racing.
What we need:
1. Tactile Transducers/Bass Shakers -> I am using the Dayton Pucks which are really cheap
2. Nobsound Sound Sound Card & Amplifier
3. Wires & Banana Plugs (Cheapest)
4. Mounting Kit for Brake Pedal
Wire up the Dayton Pucs to the Nobsound Amplifier
-
Use the speaker cables to increase the length of the Dayton Pucks wires, and attach the banana plugs.
-
Connect the Dayton Pucks to the Nobsound Amplifier
Remove the bottom screw from the brake pedals of your MOZA SR-P pedal & replace it with the provided M4 bolt.
Fix the adapter with an M4 nuts
Install the Dayton Puck Mounting & the bass shaker to the Adapter
** I bought a SimHub license, we recommend you do the same, as it is inexpensive.
Once everything is installed you will need to hook up your Nobsound to your computer. The Nobsound will be also recognized as a Sound Card.
Navigate to the Bass Shaker Page & Select the "Sound Output" tab.
(As you can see I have hooked up 2 bass shakers, one as ABS and one installed under my sim racing bucket seat)
Once the Nobsound is recognized as a Sound Card you can start customizing your ABS feedback.
I have set up the channels so that only the ABS is sent to my MOZA SR-P brake pedal, whilst all the other rumbles are sent to the shaker installed under my seat.
To do so, expand the Sound Card, and select 'Customs Channels Map'
TIP: Click on Test Now to ensure the correct shaker is being engaged, if they are the other way around, simply swap the banana plugs on the Nobsound Amplifier.
To Adjust the ABS feedback, navigate to the Effects Profiles Tab & adjust the ABS as it follows.
We encourage you to try different settings, also depending on the car you are driving!
I.e. Increase the Pulse Duration (even up to 20ms), use a different frequency, etc..
